Greece Day 1

Ok so after spending too long on a plane we landed in Athens, Greece. We managed to get here only missing one person and one bag. Once we went through customs and all we got on a bus to head to Harding's campus in Porto Rafti. All I can say about that ride is that Mercedes charter buses are nice! so we got to campus around noon and got our things settled in our rooms then came down for a fabulous lunch of chicken and potatoes. We weren't in the building 10 minutes before the fire alarms started going off because some HUG student left an oven on in their room. After lunch we had some free time to explore. This old hotel, The Artimus, which is Harding's campus (HUG) is so beautiful. we have a pool and basketball and ping pong and pretty much anything else we could want. We were supposed to have our first class today but since we are missing a person and everyone was effected with jet lag we decided just to do orientation and introductions. We went on a walking tour of Porto Rafti, where we were accompanied by 7 stray dogs on the way to the beach and back. After dinner tonight we drove an hour to Cape Sounion (The temple of poseidon) to watch the sunset. That sunset is probably the most amazing thing I have ever seen, so of course I took a ton of pictures today. Basically what I have learned today is:
1) Monte Cox's name can be used as a swear word.
2) Greek driving laws are more of guide lines.
3) Jet lag is absolutely no fun!
4) Do not flush toliet paper down the toilet or you WILL have to go fish it out.
5) A miracle has occured.....we are allowed to wear shorts to class!!!!
